Doesn't matter what you wear with it, this Skull Hoodie SkullMoth will leave a lasting impression, call it The butterfly effect if you want! Dark and fascinating, the color blend pays tribute to the inherent complexity of this insect and its duality. The colors attract and repel each other at the same time, as two symbols, like life and death that this Sphinx's Skull embody with so much grâce and innate fragility. The first skull on the back is obvious albeit subtle. The second cranium, bigger, spread on the wings, is a bit more discreet in the background and does not necessarily appear at first glance. Its menace lingers like a butterfly over the prairies.
Put a spell on your entourage and dare to fascinate with this Skull Hoodie SkullMoth.
The artist Léa created this artwork for us, but this is the Swedish naturalist Carl von Linné who described for the first time in 1758 the Acherontia atropos species, originally called Sphinx atropos. The name Acherontia, borrowed from Greek mythology, is a reference to the Acheron, one of the rivers of Hell that one had to cross to get to the realm of the Dead. Atropos is the name of one of the three Moirai (godesses of fate and destiny). She was in charge of ending the life of mortals by cutting their threads.
We've all been mesmerized and fascinated one day by the Skull Sphinx. Be it thanks to (or because of?) The Silence of the Lambs with Anthony Hopkins and Jodie Foster, or The Butterfly Effect, Edgar Allan Poe's or Maurice Renard's short stories or even in the infamous novel "Dracula" written by Bram Stoker.
When Nature sports its darkest attire, life and death brush past each other and treat us to this beauté fatale, majestic and dignified, yet so flimsy. This Skull Hoodie SkullMoth brimming with meaning and symbolism will definitly attracts you like a moth to the flames.
